How many supplier programs does Foodbuy currently have?
Foodbuy has programs with more than 400 manufacturers to include food,
non-food, and service suppliers. Foodbuy’s goal is to have contract coverage
against all products utilized by multi-unit foodservice operators, with a
preferred and secondary supplier identified in each category.
Are members required to use specific distributors to access Foodbuy’s
manufacturing programs?
No. Members can utilize any distributor they choose. The only requirement is
that the distributor report purchases to Foodbuy in a timely manner. Currently
over 400 distributors, report to Foodbuy on a weekly or monthly basis. Included
in the current reporting base are major broad line distributors and multiple
specialty and beverage distributors.
What does commitment mean?
Foodbuy is a membership based organization. Becoming a member provides
significant value to your business, and in return we ask for a commitment to
work with us as a partner to identify and pursue opportunities. You have the
option of committing selected categories or your entire purchasing volume to
maximize savings.
How does Foodbuy handle spec items?
Foodbuy analysts and procurement meet with your team to identify the quality
and spec(s) that are important to your operation. You maintain your quality and
specs while Foodbuy works to bring greater value to you.
How do I realize the savings?
Together, we identify the opportunity areas regarding your business, including
food, beverage, and non food categories. Foodbuy programs are flexible, so the
savings can be passed on either directly to you or to your franchise system.
How do I become a Foodbuy member?
Complete the feedback form to schedule a consultation with Foodbuy member
development. There are various member programs available to the multi-unit
foodservice operator. In the initial meeting, we will review your purchasing
needs and determine if a Foodbuy program may be right for you.
In addition, Foodbuy can negotiate customized distribution programs for members
to include broad line, dairy, product, equipment/supplies (E&S), services
and fresh meat programs.
